Morley's Final Catalogue: Both (also including White Ermine) occur in profusion, especially at light, from Bentley Woods to Gorleston.
Recent Suffolk status: Very common and widespread.
Life history: Single-brooded in summer. Occasional late season records in recent years. Larvae occasionally recorded in early autumn.
Identification: Usually distinctive with buff fore-wings. Paler or worn examples may be confused with White Ermine.
Habitat: A wide range of habitats.Recorded in 54 (93%) of 58 10k Squares.
