Morley’s Final Catalogue: Quite a common kind among oaks, in and out of woods, in late June. Dodnash and Bentley Woods, at Ipswich lights, &c.

Recent Status: A common summer species in Suffolk.

Life Style: Flies at night and comes to light during summer. The larvae feed from a rolled leaf on Quercus and less commonly on Acer and Carpinus. They pupate in a cocoon in the leaf or on the ground.

Identification: The moth has narrow shoulders and a broad wing with an acute apex and straight termen. It is white through yellow to pale orange ochre with a darker patterning and sometimes extensive shading centrally. The patterning may result in a netted pattern but specifically shows four spots on the costa of which the posterior three are usually double. The termen is dark and the thorax often paler.
