Morley’s Final Catalogue: Found in Ipswich during 1896-7 (Pyett) and commonly during 1930-5 (Whit.); rare at Monks Soham light in July, August 1934-6 (Mly); Aldeburgh in 1892 (Ctw); Lowestoft (Bd).

Recent Status: A scattered distribution, uncommon,

Life Style: A single brooded species flying during summer. They come to light. The larvae feed from a silken gallery amongst the moss Torula muralis on walls. They feed during February, March, April and May and pupate in the larval habitation.

Identification: The moth is an easily recognised member of the genus. It is a pale colour of light brown through cream to white. Variably marked with black scales which coalesce to large blotches along the wing. The subterminal fascia is evident in the pale ground colour. More Info
