Morley’s Final Catalogue: Very common about oaks. Copdock (Hkg); Bentley Woods (Pyett) in June 1896 to May 1935 and often indoors at Monks Soham during April 1934 and May 1916. Brandon (Wrn), in June 1918 (Mly).

Recent Status: A common species in Suffolk and the UK.

Life Style: Single brooded with a long flight period from April to September. The larvae feed from spun leaves or a silken tube exposed on a leaf of deciduous Quercus species. They feed in late summer and autumn and pupate in a loose cocoon on the ground.
