Morley’s Final Catalogue: Abundant everywhere from Bentley Woods to Gorleston. On sugar at Fritton. Frequently at Monks Soham light in every month of the year excepting only June. Staverton, on sugar.

Recent Status: A common species across Suffolk.

Life Style: Single brooded, hibernates and comes to light. Also visits sugar and can be found on rotting fruit, blackberries and ivy. The larvae initially mine a leaf before feeding from a slight web on the underside of Centaurea, Cirsium, Carduus, Arctium or Serratula.

Identification: A pale species boldly dark marked. It has a wing colour from white through cream to pale ochre. There is dark speckling and dark marks as the wing-base dash, costal marks and a prominent central suffuse spot with a small spot beyond. There are black spots on the termen and the Agonopterix twin spots are prominent.
