Morley’s Final Catalogue: Rather common throughout England. Aldeburgh in 1892 (Ctw); Leiston (Grey).

Recent Status: A rare species in Suffolk.

Life Style: A single brooded species flying in June and July. The larvae mine leaves of Festuca ovina, F. rubra and F. filiformis. They pupate on the ground.

Identification: A small silky white species with two black spot, the one at the apex of the distal cell being the clearest. The other black spot is on the fold at two thirds. There is a dark line in the cilia and sometimes dark scales at the apex, tornus and base of the wing. There is no similar species. More Info
The larvae mine from the tip of a leaf initially and then change leaves mining in either direction. They are olive green with a light brown head and paler divided prothoracic plate.
