Recent Status: After many years with no records, leaf mines in Wild Basil were found in the King's forest in October 2024.
Life Style: A double brooded species that can be found from May to September. The larvae mine Clinopodium vulgare. They initially make a long narrow brown gallery before creating a blotch and will change leaves.
Identification: A small Elachistidae with deep blackish brown forewings marked with silver to brassy bands at the base, at one half and a tornal bar and inwardly oblique pre-apical bar from the costa. The dark antennae have a broad white band at three quarters. More Info
