Ypsolopha scabrella

Morley’s Final Catalogue: Captured at Bungay by Mrs.Mann (Trans. I, 35), probably at light about 1903.

Recent Status: Recorded commonly across Suffolk.

Life Style: A single brooded species flying from June to August. The larvae feed from a slight web on leaves of Malus, Crataegus and Cotoneaster. They pupate in a white cocoon on the ground or on the foodplant.

Identification: A pale grey or ochre species with dark longitudinal streaking. The dorsal half of the wing particularly towards the base is predominantly darker. There are three black scale tufts on the dorsum and the tornal cilia are ferruginous. The apex is produced but not falcate and the termen is concave.
