Morley’s Final Catalogue: One example in Bentley Woods during January 1896 (Baylis), and others in October and December 1899, all among holly there where is no Euonymus: none seen later (Mly). Sotterly at light on 26 May 1936 (Gd).

Recent Status: Recorded sparingly across Suffolk.

Life Style: The moth is single brooded and hibernates. It can be found from July to April. The larvae feed from a slight web on leaves of Euonymus europaeus. They pupate in a brown cocoon on the ground.

Identification: The largest Ypsolopha by far. This narrow winged species has a strongly produced, but not falcate, apex. The termen is slightly concave and very oblique. The forewing is pale buff and marked with longitudinal dark fuscous streaking.
