Recent Status: A common species.
Life Style: A single brooded night flying species that comes to light. It can be found throughout summer. The larvae feed in shoots and catkins of Betula and Alnus. The larvae hibernate. They pupate beneath bark.
Identification: A distinctive ornate Argyresthia. The moth has bands and spots of white on a golden brown forewing. There is also a form and intermediates, where the white is also a golden brown but with the pattern still outlined slightly darker. Unlike any other Suffolk species.
