Morley’s Final Catalogue: A very few specimens in Ipswich and Monks Soham houses during May to July (Mly). Frequent throughout the east half of Suffolk, up to Lowestoft.

Recent Status: The species is recorded in Suffolk but is not common.

Life Style: A single or double brooded species that has been captured from April to September. The larvae feed on waste animal and vegetable matter. It predominates on fur and feather waste.

Identification: Niditinea species have relatively long parallel sided forewings. They are a mottled ochre, fuscous and black. N. fuscella may show a single or three black spots. A pattern can be recognised but genitalia dissection is required to confirm identification. More Info
