Recent Status: Considered to be an adventive species with the first Suffolk record taken at light during 2006. The species has also been taken at light in Belgium.

Life Style: The moth flies at night and comes to light. The larvae feed on species of Solanaceae. In particular it is a pest on Aubergines. It bores into all parts of the plant causing leaves and shoots to die off and destroys the commercial value of fruit

Identification: An attractively marked moth with white translucent wings with a pearly sheen, and marked in brown, black and orange. It is a tropical and subtropical species found in India to China and across to Australasia. More Info
The genus Leucinodes is under review. The similar L. laisalis has darker wings and recorded in Britain as an adventive, also on Solanaceae.
