Recent Status: Duponchelia fovealis is an adventive species being distributed with house plants. It is also an immigrant and Suffolk records fall into both categories.

Life Style: A multi-brooded species indoors. Double brooded outdoors in Europe. The larvae feed on a very wide range of plants. They feed on leaves, flowers and bore into stems.

Identification: The moth is dark brown with the base and median band irrorate white scales. The white post median line has a sharp sinuation centrally towards the termen which is diagnostic. A white pre median line and a dark stigma may be visible.
