Recent Status: This species is common across the entire county. It is not clear why it is missing from Morley’s final catalogue.

Life Style: A single brooded species flying during summer and coming to light. The peak in abundance is in mid-August. The larvae feed on grasses from silken galleries on the lower stems of the foodplant.

Identification: This is the smallest British species. It is a shade of light brown with paler veins. The colour is deeper on the costal half of the wing and the veins can be white centrally. Intervein is speckled with dark scales. The cilia are metallic.
