Morley’s Final Catalogue: Local in marshy flats: Blaxhall (Hkr); scarce in 1892 at Aldeburgh salt-marshes and found also at Southwold in 1897 (Ctw); Lowestoft (Bd); Fritton at light in 1935 (Mly); Beccles (Ctw); Bungay (Mn).

Recent Status: A species of wet or damp habitats that includes Suffolk salt-marsh. It is recorded from both vice counties.

Life Style: A single brooded night flying species with a peak during mid-August. The moth comes to light. The larvae feed on grasses from a silken gallery low on the foodplant.

Identification: Agriphila selasella resembles a slightly smaller more evenly marked paler A. tristella. The central streak does not narrow as it does in A. tristella and the divided section is less strongly marked.
