Morley’s Final Catalogue: (The two forms of this species are separate species during Morley’s time stated as):- abundant species throughout the County and Britain. (and as):- Occurs on the Breck near Thetford (Harwood), at Brandon (Barrett) and Cavenham (Mly). Unnoticed on other heaths where it is likely to be locally abundant.

Recent Status: A common species in Britain and across Suffolk.

Life Style: A single brooded summer flying species that comes to light. It can be found across many habitats. The larvae feed on various grasses.

Identification: Crambus perlella is an easily recognised species with two forms. There are however scarce intermediate individuals. The moth has a glossy white to golden forewing and a termen that is convex. There can then be brown shading on the wing that when extensive gives rise to the second form of the species. This appears brown with glossy white streaks and is known as forma warringtonellus.
