Recent Status: The earliest UK confirmed record of this species is 1975. The first confirmed Suffolk record was from Rougham in 2022.

Life Style: A single brooded species flying during May and June by day and occasionally coming to light. The larvae feed inside immature cones of a variety of conifer species. Frass is ejected and the development of the cones is disrupted.

Identification: Cydia illutana is a variable species similar to Cydia coniferana, C. indivisa and the Scottish species C. cognatana. The dorsal mark may be absent single or double. The pale costal strigulae may be reduced in darker forms. More Info
