Morley’s Final Catalogue: Not split from Pammene fasciana in Morley's time.

Recent Status: Rare, only a few recent records in west Suffolk.

Life Style: A single brooded species that comes to light. It can be found from late April to June, normally earlier than fasciana. The larvae feed inside Beech mast.

Identification: Very similar to Pammene fasciana, but normally darker in colour.

Verification Grade Comment: Very similar to Pammene fasciana and once thought to be a form of that moth but currently regarded as a separate species.

Determination by Genitalia Examination (gen. det.) Required
