Recent Status: This species was first recorded in Britain in 1988, however specimens were found that had been collected prior to this date. There are two records for Suffolk.

Life Style: A single brooded species that flies during June, July and August and comes to light. The larvae feed on Medicago sativa flowers and seeds. They pass the winter fully fed in a cocoon on the ground in which they pupate in spring.

Identification: The adult moth is not especially distinctive, grey brown in colour with the scales tipped paler giving is a very fine peppered appearance. There is a weak ocellus edged with plumbeous grey. There are short strigulae on the entire length of the costa.
