Recent Status: A rare species in Suffolk that may arrive as an immigrant.

Life Style: A single brooded species that comes to light. The larvae that hibernate feed in the shoots, buds and male catkins of Pinus species. They pupate in a cocoon at the larval habitation.

Identification: The moth has a light grey brown head, and thorax. The forewings are a light grey with numerous darker transverse striae. The darker markings may have an orange brown colouring which can extend to much of the wing. The species is larger than Clavigesta purdeyi. More Info
