Life Style: A double brooded Acleris with the autumn brood hibernating. The larvae feed from a folded leaf of Ulmus.
Identification: This species and A. logiana may be confused. The summer brood of A. kochiella is creamy white and the autumn brood generally a silvery grey. This species is smaller and relatively narrower winged to A. logiana that is 18 to 22mm wingspan. The other distinguishing factor is that A. kochiella appears rough winged and A. logiana is silky, In part this is a consequence of fine speckling in A. kochiella
