Morley’s Final Catalogue: Very rare, sitting quiescently on oak-trunks. Benacre Woods on 19 March 1933 (Gd); Bentley Woods, first seen on 10 May 1933 (Mly), found in some numbers and bred (Whit) and in early August 1934 (Wir, Trans, ii, 296 and lxxxix); new to Suffolk at Bungay in 1903 (Mrs. Mann ; I.e. i, 33).

Recent Status: Known in previous years from Ramsey Wood and Staverton Park. This species appears to be increasing in recent years and spreading to new sites where it hasn't been noted historically.

Life Style: Flies by night. Single brooded and hibernating. Larvae feed from spun leaves on Quercus.

Identification: A distinctive green and black marked species unlikely to be confused with any other British Acleris.
