Morley’s Final Catalogue: Abundant among ash in June from Wherstead to Ringsfield.

Recent Status: A species commonly recorded with significant annual variance in abundance.

Life Style: A single or double brooded species that has been recorded from May to November. The larvae feed on berries and seeds of Ligustrum, Fraxinus and Syringa. They pupate in a flat white cocoon on the ground where they pass the winter

Identification: An unmistakeable moth with an intricate patterning. The amount of darker shading varies and can cover most of the wing except for the bright yellow dorsal spot.
