Morley’s Final Catalogue: Not known from the county in Morley's time.

Recent Status: The first Suffolk record was at Landguard in July 2024 (N. Odin). Very rare in East Anglia, with only 3 records for Essex and none for Norfolk or Cambridgeshire.

Life Style: Single brooded and flies from dusk and comes to light in July and August. Can be found in Fens, wet heaths, bogs and saltmarshes.
The larvae feed in folded or spun leaves of various plants.

Identification: The only similar species is Phtheochroa inopiana but that lacks the long labial palps and is very plain in colour.
