Recent Status: A rare and local species in Suffolk.

Life Style: Single brooded and found from April to June. Micropterix adults have jaws and feed on pollen. Their life cycles are not well known and it is often quoted that the larvae feed on tender growth of herbaceous plants. The moths are day flying.

Identification: M. mansuetella has a black head. The wings are banded deep purple on golden. The base narrowly, a band at one third and the terminal two fifths are purple. More Info
