Morley’s Final Catalogue: Not uncommon among yarrow. Ipswich, Bealings, Boyton, bred in 1932-5 (Whit.); Swefling (Bloomf.); Leiston (Grey).
Recent Status: This is a common species with records in Suffolk.
Life Style: A single brooded species that comes to light. They fly in July and August. The larvae feed on the seeds of Achillea millefolium and A. ptarmica. They hibernate before pupation the following year.
Identification: The moth is a greyish ochre with white stripes and scattered dark scales. They can be identified by genitalia dissection.
