Morley's Final Catalogue: Bloomfield's sole record of this sallow feeder is taken from the 'Nat' (sans ref.) presumably of about 1860, showing it to have then occurred pretty freely at Nayland Stoke. It is a fens species and has later been noted only at Brandon staunch amoung Osier, where a dozen males were sunning themselves upon the midrib of nettle-leaves, flying to and fro, on 22 June 1928.
Recent Suffolk status: Local at wetland sites. More records in recent years with the use of the pheromone.
Life history: Single-brooded, flying from late spring into summer.
Identification: Patch of reddish scales at the wingtip is diagnostic.
