Recent Status: A rare species in Suffolk that is now recorded on both vice counties.

Life Style: A double or triple brooded species that has been captured from May to August. The larvae feed on Trifolium and Ononis leaves. They pupate on the foodplant.

Identification: The moth is small but distinctively marked with oblique silver, black edged stria on a dark brown wing. The silver marks are placed alternately four on the costa and on the dorsum with a terminal spot. They may occasionally join alternate marks to form complete fasciae. The larvae initially form a sinuous mine on the underside of a leaf before moving to the upper side of a mid-vein from where they mine branches from their resting position. The blotch is usually brown. They pupate in a white silken cocoon on the surface of a leaf. More Info
