Life history: Multi-brooded. Most Suffolk records in late summer and in the autumn.
Identification: Small mottled willow rests with its wings wrapped around the body, unlike similar species. Pale mottled willow has a much broader forewing, a row of black dots along the costa and part of the kidney mark is dark brown. Dark mottled willow also has broader wings and holds them flatter at rest.
