Status Morley's Final Catalogue: Distinctly local, usually rare. Ipswich, at light in Aprils of 1894-8 (Mly, Baylis, Pyett). Comes freely to sugar in some seasons at Waldringfield (Wlr) and in 1936 at Benacre (Gd). Taken before 1890 at Needham, Glemham magna, Aldeburgh, Beccles, and Bury.
Recent Suffolk Status: Common.
Life history: Single-brooded. Regular at light traps in small numbers. F. immaculata without the twin spots is seen occasionally most years. Larvae have been found hiding in cracks in bark at the base of large trees in the daytime in the county.
Identification: Clouded drab has blotches rather than twin spots on the cross line.
