Recent Suffolk Status: A single immigrant/ wanderer record from 2009 at Bawdsey (M. Deans). The nearest colonies to Suffolk are found in Kent.
Life history: Single-brooded.
Identification: Dotted rustic has an obvious row of black dots across the forewing which are lacking on Northern rustic. Stout dart is another similar species but that is now thought to be extinct in the UK with no recent records. It is normally a much browner moth.
