Morley's Final Catalogue: Not recorded in the country during Morley's time.

The first British records were from the Norfolk Broads in 1961.

Recent Suffolk Status: The first county record came from Bawdsey Hall on the night of 03.08.2015 (M.J. Deans). Arriving on the same night as a Speckled Footman of the continental race arenaria - this moth was a likely immigrant. This is only the second record of an immigrant in the country, following one at Grain, Kent in 2006.
The second county record followed shortly, from North Cove SWT, on 07.07.2017 (Suffolk Moth Group). This site is close to the only known British colonies in the Norfolk broads and occurred on a very warm night ideal for dispersal.
There have been four more county records since the first two including another in Suffolk broadland suggesting it may be attempting to colonise the county. Has increased and spread in recent years in the Norfolk Broads.

Life history: Single-brooded.

Identification: Compare with larger and slimmer Dotted Footman.

Habitat: Fens, reedbeds.
