Status Morley’s Final Catalogue: Not listed.
Recent Status: This species is widespread in Britain and Europe but very rarely seen. There have been captures at light and to the Raspberry Clearwing pheromone lure in recent years, including the two Suffolk records.
Life Style: Little is actually known about this species. The larva is undescribed but it is suggested it may feed on lichen or rotten wood
Identification: The moth has an ornate appearance. The two pairs of very large scale tufts on each wing and the deep ferruginous head tuft should make it unmistakable. The terminal quarter of the wing is paler with chequered margins. The thorax and fore wings are silvery blue/grey marked with black, brown and ochre. https://lepiforum.org/wiki/page/Stenoptinea_cyaneimarmorella | Retained Specimen / Photograph will be Required. | |
