Morley's Final Catalogue: Of frequent occurrence everywhere about heaths, feeding on ling, and woods, on sallow. Recently noticed at Bentley Woods, Brandeston, at Monks Soham light, Beccles, Barnby, North Cove, Fritton and abundantly in Tuddenham Fen.

Recent Suffolk Status: Rarer in more recent years with most records from the Sandlings and Breck areas.

Life history: Single-brooded.

Identification: Unmistakeable.

Habitat: Heathland, wetlands, woodlands.

Recorded in 28 (48%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1940.
Last Recorded in 2023.
