Morley's Final Catalogue: Not recorded from the county in Morley's time, only known then from Portland, Dorset.

Recent Suffolk Status: Immigrant/ wanderer. 2 records on the same night on the coast in August 2023 were the first county records. Increasing and spreading in the UK so more records are likely in future years.

Life history: Single brooded in the UK but double brooded on the continent.

Identification: Smaller than Riband wave. Plain wave lacks any dark colouration between the cross lines.

Habitat: Coastal habitats.
