Life Style: A single brooded species flying during May and June during the day and occasionally comes to light. The larvae feed inside cones of Pinus sylvestris and P. nigra. They pupate following hibernation in a pine scale.

Identification: A small species of Cydia. The moth is dark brownish grey. The outer two thirds has deep golden tips to the scales resulting is a peppered effect. The costa has 5 white strigulae. The first subtends a leaden fascia to the dorsum. The second subtends a leaden fascia to the tornus, skirting the ocellus which is black marked. The fourth subtends a leaden fascia which has a break before skirting the outer edge of the ocellus and the leaden fascia from the fifth skirts around the apex. The larvae feed on seeds inside the cones and when fully fed hibernate in a cavity eaten from a scale where they pupate. They emerge from the hole in the scale surface. http://www.lepiforum.de/lepiwiki.pl?Cydia_Conicolana
