Recent Status: Recorded in Suffolk mostly near the coast.
Life Style: The moth is single brooded flying during July, August and September. It flies by day and occasionally comes to light. The larvae feed between two leaves of a Populus species.
Identification: A very attractively marked species. The ocellus has long black dashes. The wing is a light ochre, cream or pink. It is marked with fasciae and striae of brown, black and rosy ferruginous. The hindwings are a contrasting very deep brown. Recorded in 16 (28%) of 58 10k Squares. First Recorded in 1932. Last Recorded in 2023. |
