Morley’s Final Catalogue: Ipswich in 1932-4, bred from larvae on poplar; Thorpness in 1933 (Whittingham).

Recent Status: Recorded in Suffolk mostly near the coast.

Life Style: The moth is single brooded flying during July, August and September. It flies by day and occasionally comes to light. The larvae feed between two leaves of a Populus species.

Identification: A very attractively marked species. The ocellus has long black dashes. The wing is a light ochre, cream or pink. It is marked with fasciae and striae of brown, black and rosy ferruginous. The hindwings are a contrasting very deep brown.
