Morley’s Final Catalogue: Two specimens of this local species, feeding on bluebells, were captured at Orford in July 1902 (Gbs).
Recent Status: Locally common.
Life Style: A single brooded species that flies during June, July and August and comes to light. The larvae feed on the flowers of Leucanthemum vulgare and Hyacinthoides non-scripta from a web spun across the flower heads. They pupate on the ground.
Identification: The adult moth is similar to larger Cnephasia species. However the outline of the bands is smoother, the distal edge of the main cross band is obscure and the wing beyond shows an overall darker shade to that in front of the main cross band.
