Morley's Final Catalogue: Not known from the country in Morley's time. First UK record was in 1978.

Recent Suffolk Status: Scarce immigrant. First noted in the county in 2004, at Purdis Farm, Ipswich (N. Sherman). A run of coastal records from that year up until 2009, then went unrecorded until 2016. Since then it has been almost annual in Suffolk.

Life history: Double-brooded. Most Suffolk records have been of the second generation.

Identification: A very plain, nondescript noctuid. A faint reddish streak may be visible on some moths. The slightly similar Pale mottled willow has black spots along the costa.
