Life history: Single-brooded.
Identification: All the Ear moth species are very similar and the best way to separate them is by dissection. Large ear and Saltern ear are the two larger species to be found in the county, with Saltern ear a fairly common resident along the coast.
Habitat: Moorland and marshes in the north and west of the UK where the moth is resident.
