Morley's Final Catalogue: Discovered new to Suffolk at light beside Fritton Lake in August 1933 (Mly, Doughty, Moore: Trans. ii, p. cii).; again there in 1934; and two by Jackson at Barnby in August 1935. Hitherto confined, in the world, to Norfolk Broads (EMM. 1900, p. 278).

Recent Suffolk status: Very local in the reedbeds mainly from Minsmere to Benacre, with outlying records from Orfordness. Searches in other reedbeds along the coast recently has failed to find more colonies outside the main known areas.
