Morley's Final Catalogue: Everywhere; odd specimens turn up in all sorts of situations, e.g. under dead ash-bark in Ashfield marshes of the Deben, and even in beached Southwold fishing-boats.

Recent Suffolk Status: Common.

Life history: Single-brooded. Larvae have been swept from forestry rides in the Brecks in recent years.

Identification: Unmistakeable.

Habitat: A wide variety of habitats including gardens.

Recorded in 55 (95%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1930.
Last Recorded in 2024.
