Morley's Final Catalogue: The central-southern European B. algae occurs in Lancs-Cheshire only.

Recent Suffolk Status: Common. First noted in the county in 2003, at Landguard, Felixstowe (N. Odin). Rapidly spread and increased in numbers from then. Numbers are probably boosted by immigration during warm spells.

Life history: Single-brooded. Late records into October in Suffolk.

Identification: The greenish colouration makes this species unmistakeable.

Habitat: Woodland, parkland, gardens.

Recorded in 44 (76%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 2003.
Last Recorded in 2024.
