Habitats: This species can be found in throughout the county in almost any habitat and may be attracted to light in numbers.
Identification: It is very variable in appearance with several named forms; care should be taken as some forms superficially resemble forms of Lunar Underwing (Omphaloscelis lunosa) however the slimmer oval and kidney marks should help identification.
Life history: The larvae feed on many different herbaceous plants.
