Morley's Final Catalogue: Not known from the county in Morley's time.

Recent Suffolk Status: Now local, but fairly widespread across the county.
This species had a big recent population expansion from the south and west of the UK in the early 2000s. The first county record was in 2006, at Milden (J. Hawkins). Further records followed in west Suffolk and also in the east in 2007. From 2009 the records increased across the county as colonization took place.

Life history: Single-brooded, the adults hibernating over the winter and reappearing in the spring. Recorded more regulary at light and ivy blossom than Tawny pinion in Suffolk.

Habitat: Woodland and parkland.

Recorded in 37 (64%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 2006.
Last Recorded in 2024.
