Morley's Final Catalogue: Not known from Suffolk in Morley's time.

Recent Suffolk Status: Common immigrant and recent colonist. First recorded in Suffolk at Landguard in 2000 (N. Odin). From about 2004, colonies became established along the coast. In 2005 it started to appear at inland sites and has continued spreading and increasing in numbers.

Life history: Double-brooded. The second brood is much larger. Recorded commonly at light, Ivy flowers and Blackberries.

Identification: The white 'L' mark makes this species fairly unmistakeable, but compare with Shoulder-striped wainscot and the scarce Obscure wainscot.

Habitat: A wide variety of grassy habitats.
