Morley's Final Catalogue: Very locally abundant on sugar in woods. Bentley, Ipswich, Needham, Aldeburgh, Beccles and Lowestoft: before 1890. Later records are from only Bentley Woods (Mly, Elliott, Mera, Ml, Baylis, Hkg, Pyett, Platten); Waldringfield in 1891 (R. E. James); and Bungay in 1902 (Mn). Does not occur in Lothingland.

Recent Suffolk Status: Extinct. Last county record was in 1905.

Life history: Single-brooded.

Identification: Has a curved costa and a broader forewing than Ingrailed clay and Purple clay.

Habitat: Woodland, wooded heathland.

Retained Specimen / Photograph will be Required.

Last Recorded in 1905.
