Morley's Final Catalogue: Never appears in numbers, usually singly on sugar in woods, about Bentley, Ipswich, Waldringfield, Blaxhall, Needham and Hardwick near Bury.

Recent Suffolk Status: Local.

Life history: Single-brooded.

Identification: Ingrailed clay is paler in colour. Square-spotted clay is darker in colour and has a distinct dark outer band.

Habitat: Woodland.

Recorded in 35 (60%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1940.
Last Recorded in 2023.
