Morley's Final Catalogue: Both (also including Buff Ermine) occur in profusion, especially at light, from Bentley Woods to Gorleston.

Recent Suffolk Status: Very common and widespread.

Life history: Single-brooded in summer. Occasional late season records in recent years. Larvae occasionally recorded in late summer.

Identification: Compare with female Muslin Moth which is smaller and has and has transparent white wings and much the scarcer Water Ermine, from which it differs by the pure white colour of the forewings and the central black dot on the hindwing.

Habitat: Ubiquitous in many habitats including gardens and woodland.
