Morley's Final Catalogue: Suffolk, teste W.C. Hewitson Esq. (Stephens, Illus. ii, 1829, p.198). Woolly Bears are adundant in all gardens, to a less extent on our central clay.

Recent status: Much declined in recent years. 'Woolly Bears' are found far less frequently. The core populations now seem centred along the coastal belt, river valleys and fens in the west.

Identification: Unmistakable.

Habitat: Gardens, woodland and marshes.

Recorded in 49 (84%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1930.
Last Recorded in 2021.
